Abstracts: Requirements & Deadlines

Poster abstracts, abstracts for Young Scientist Speaker Program, and abstracts of invited lectures are due by 5 PM March 20th. On March 21st is the deadline to send the Book of Abstracts into production. If you miss the book of abstracts, email the abstract to Prof. Sarma, and bring 200 copies with you for distribution at the Conversation site. If you are an young scientist, and requesting oral time from the platform, please do so as soon as possible, instead of waiting for the deadline of March 1 2019.

Young Scientists Speaker Program

Depending on from which country you are coming from, there could be considerable delay in obtaining a US VIsa. For example students and scientists from India, Russia and FSU countries report delays of a few months. In the past, there were several instances in which the VISAs were granted after the Conversation. So we suggest that people who may fall potentially in this category submit their abstracts as immediately as possible so that they can receive their formal invitations from us, and start processing their Visa applications as early as possible.

The abstracts of Albany 2019: The 20th Conversation will be published as a supplement to Journal of Biomolecular Structure & Dynamics by Taylor and Francis. They will also appear at the Book of Abstracts section of the 20th Conversation web. The published book of abstarcts from the 19th Conversation can be downloaded from: download_book_of_abstracts-2015.pdf.

The abstract must not exceed one page, typed single space (8.5"x11"), including essential references, and must contain email numbers, in addition to complete postal address. Here is an example of a properly prepared abstract with a color diagram and references:

Prepare your abstract like the sample above in msword.doc file and email to Prof. sarma (rhs07@albany.edu). If your abstract contains diagrams (color or black & white), please include them within the MS word document, i.e., send a single MS word file with diagrams. If your abstract has a list of references, please follow the format shown in the examples; do not hyperlink the references to the URL of the reference.

We are unable to process abstracts received on paper, either typed or faxed.

The Book of Abstarcts from Albany Conversation is covered by data systems such as Thomson Reuter's Web of Science and NCBI's PubMed.
