Registration, Meals and Accommodation

Many aspects of registration, meals and accommodation are simplified to mange it better with fewer staffs. Registration fee in Albany covers most of your meals. The only thing it does not cover is the cost of the lunches on Wed, Thursday and Friday (6/12-6/14). Housing is at the new Empire Commons, air conditioned 24 hr internet connected apartments built by the University for our students. Four separate bed rooms are connected to a common living room, kitchen and two baths etc. We have been alloted only a limited number of buildings this year at Empire Commons. So we will use the policy of first come first serve.

An Important Change in Policy.

Even though in previous Conversations, we have accepted payment for registration & housing on line via credit cards, starting with this 20th Conversation, we are discontinuing allowing credit cards for payment. This is because about 15% of the revenue is spent just for the usage of the credit cards. This time we have maintained the cost of accommodation and meals same as the previous Conversation, the 19th in 2015, and the registration fee was adjusted with a minor increase of US $50.00. We are using the funds saved from discontinuing credit cards to meet the normal increase of costs for goods and services from 2015.

Adenine Press is authorized to collect and process the fees.Participants from US can pay by personal or institutional checks or US postal money order. Foreign participants can pay by bank drafts drawn in any bank located in the US or by international postal money orders. Download the forms from below. For wire transferring the fees, contact Prof. Sarma (rhs07@albany.edu) for details.

Cancellations and Refund Policy

Commencing May 9, no cancellations or refunds will be entertained. We are not a convention center or a hotel. It takes great deal of our regular time to get the Empire Commons ready and process the various fees. It is just not possible for us to respond like hotels. After may 9, try to book your room in a hotel.

Permission to Publish Book of Abstracts

While the authors of the abstracts submitted to the Conversation, own the copyright of their abstracts, registration to the 20th Conversation implies giving permission to Taylor and Francis to publish the abstracts in the Journal of Biomolecular Structure and Dynamics: Book of Abstracts Supplement in print and online and to have the abstracts covered by databases such as PubMed and Web of Science.

Registration Fee

As we have stated before, starting this year Albany Conversation is not accepting credit cards so that we can keep the costs essentially same as the last Conversation. To register (and to reserve) accommodations at University Housing download the forms using the links above, and mail that to the address in the form along with a check, bank draft or postal money order in US dollars made in a bank located in the US.

The registration fees listed below includes 2 receptions, one Russian-Israeli party, 7 coffee breaks, 4 continental breakfasts, Wednesday & Thursday night (june 12-13) dinners, Friday night (june 14) big feast, and Saturday lunch. We appreciate an early registration because it allows to organize the affairs properly, and to encourage this, there is a discount for early registration. Fee must be paid along with this completed from. Bonafide students obtain the special discounted fee for students. They must also send a copy of their student ID along with the form.
