The 2010 Impact Factor for the Journal of Biomolecular Structure & Dynamics (JBSD) is 4.986; it ranks 57 out of 286 in the category of journals in biochemistry and molecular biology, 12 out of 73 in the category of journals in biophysics. The data from Journal Citation Report, 2010, ISI Thomson-Reuters further show that the J Biomol Struct Dyn ranks within the top 25% of all journals in biochemistry, molecular biology and biophysics.

The 2011 data from Elsevier Scopus SCImago (http://www.scimagojr.com) shows that Cite per Doc (calculated using the same formula as Thomson's Impact factor) is 9.35, and the Journal ranks at the top 5 out of 185 in all molecular biology journals.

If you are new to JBSD and interested in exciting research results, we will appreciate if you will consider us for a subscription by your institutional library.

JBSD Citation Classics

We commenced publication in 1983; since then several papers that have been published in the 1980's and 1990's have become classics, continue to be cited still today. They reach the stage of maximum citation at the 7th or later year with respect to the first year of publication, indicating their long term impact on the discipline. Listed below are a few examples.

The Definition of Generalized Helicoidal Parameters and of Axis Curvature For Irregular Nucleic-Acids
R. Lavery and H. Sklenar, J Biomol Struct Dyn 6, 63-91 (1988).

Times Cited: 849. Maximum citation of 74 centered around 11th to the 14th year of publication
